1. Who we are

Kent Business Events is a directory of business events and venues in Kent and Medway, run from Park Farm, Ashford, Kent. Contact: info@kentbusinessevents.co.uk.

2. What the site does

Kent Business Events provides event and venue listings and advertising services. We do not organise or run events listed by third parties. Event organisers are responsible for running their events, attendance arrangements, cancellations and ticket refunds.

We publish listings that signpost visitors to organisers and venues. We do not sell tickets, take bookings or handle enquiries, and we do not guarantee attendance, enquiries or results.

Listing fees and attendance payments are separate. Our fees are what organisers and venues pay us for listing and advertising services. Any price to attend an event, or to hire a venue, is paid to the organiser or venue, not to us, and refunds of those payments are a matter for them. We remain responsible for delivering the listing and advertising services you buy from us.

3. Packages and prices

• Free event: £0, one active single-date event per account at a time, with minimum details only and no promotion. Free to attend? Choose a free listing or a paid package with additional promotion. If your event charges an attendance fee, choose a paid listing package.
• Single event: £27, one event date.
• Unlimited events: £97 a year, or £147 a year "Done for you", covering separate and recurring events during the paid year.
• Venue: £97 a year, or £147 a year "Done for you", covering one physical address and its rooms.
• Featured event banner: £27 for one date of a paid event, until the event starts or for one calendar month, whichever is sooner.

Prices shown are the full amounts charged. Promotion is carried out by hand and late submissions may miss it.

• Event promotion. Each eligible upcoming date of a £27 single event or an annual event package is included in the Kent Business Newsletter in the week before that date, and promoted on our social accounts around one week before it takes place. Free listings are not promoted.
• Venue promotion. Annual venue packages receive one newsletter promotion and one social media post in each paid year. Venues do not receive weekly or grouped event promotion.
• Annual packages (events and venues) also include three customer-supplied blog posts per paid year and a free Premium listing on the Kent Business Directory, set up by hand.

4. Approval

Every listing and every change is reviewed before publication. Payment does not guarantee publication. We may request changes, decline or remove listings that are inaccurate, unlawful or not business-related. Our review checks that a listing is suitable for the site; we do not independently verify every detail of every listing, and we cannot guarantee that an event will take place.

Done for you packages

After you purchase, we contact you by email to collect your details and create your listing. Before your first listing is published we send you a preview to check. We do not publish it until you confirm it. Your confirmation does not excuse any mistake made by our team, and we remain responsible for delivering the service you bought with reasonable care and skill.

5. Renewal, cancellation and refunds

Renewal

Your paid year starts on your successful payment date. Annual packages renew automatically every 12 months at the same price unless cancelled. We email you 14 days before each renewal.

Cancelling automatic renewal

You can cancel automatic renewal at any time from your account or by emailing info@kentbusinessevents.co.uk. Your package continues until the end of the year you have paid for, then ends, and you will not be charged again.

Failed renewal payments and expiry

If a renewal payment fails, or a package expires, listings covered by that package are unpublished immediately, with no grace period. Your details are kept and listings can return once payment is made.

Refunds

If you would like a refund, for example because a listing was not approved, email us. We consider each request individually. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including any right to cancel under consumer law where it applies.

Changing package

Changes between a package and its "Done for you" version are arranged with us.

6. Listing Terms: your responsibilities

If you are an event organiser or venue owner with a listing on Kent Business Events, you agree to:

• provide accurate information;
• check your published listings;
• keep dates, times, locations, prices, booking links and contact details current;
• report errors, cancellations, postponements and other changes to us promptly; and
• hold permission to use the text, images and other content you submit.

If you manage your own listings, update them promptly from your account. If you are on a Done for you package, email changes promptly to info@kentbusinessevents.co.uk.

You give us permission to display your content on this site, in the newsletter and on our social channels. You confirm these terms each time you submit a listing; we record your account, the time and the version of these terms you agreed to.

7. Cancelled or changed events

Tell us, or mark the date in your account, if your event is cancelled, postponed or changed. A cancelled date keeps its page with a clear cancellation notice and is removed from upcoming listings. Visitors are directed to the organiser about tickets and refunds. Newsletter and social promotion is arranged by hand, so tell us as early as possible; promotion that has already gone out cannot be withdrawn.

8. Your personal data

We handle personal data in line with UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Our Privacy policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and your rights. When you create an account we record that you agreed to these terms and read the Privacy policy.

9. Liability

Draft wording pending review by a UK solicitor. This section has not yet been legally approved and is not presented as guaranteed to be enforceable.

We are responsible for providing the listing and advertising services you buy from us with reasonable care and skill, as described in these terms. If we fail to do so, please contact us and we will put things right, or consider a refund.

Listings are supplied by event organisers and venue owners. We are not responsible for loss caused by:

• incorrect or out-of-date information supplied by a listing owner;
• cancellations, postponements or venue changes that the listing owner did not report to us;
• third-party booking websites, attendance payments made to organisers, or refunds of those payments; or
• the running of events, or venue services, by third parties outside our control.

This does not limit our responsibility for our own mistakes, or for failures in services we provide. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
